Safeguarding the Future - Session 2 with Margaret Duncan
A safeguard is a measure taken to protect someone or something or to prevent something undesirable happening.
For example, if you run a business, you might develop a succession plan to safeguard it when you’re no longer able.
People with an intellectual disability often rely on family, friends or advocates to provide safeguards around their quality of life and prevent bad things from happening, especially when they have difficulty communicating.
In this session, guest speaker Margaret Duncan will discuss the vital role wills, estate planning and supported decision making can play in providing an important safeguard for the future.
