The Murrow Boys – News Broadcasting During WWII
Prior to WWII, radio newscasts were infrequent and more likely featured commentary on current events rather than "hard-hitting" journalism. That all changed during the War. Brian Belanger, Curator at the National Capital Radio and Television Museum, will lead a talk discussing CBS' Edward R. Murrow, wartime broadcaster, and how his reports brought the war viscerally into American living rooms and changed the history of radio broadcast news forever--complete with audio clips that will transport you back in time.
