Dr. Shalu Pal completed her Contact Lens, Cornea, and Disease Residency at Northeastern State University Oklahoma College of Optometry. She is a member of the New Technology Committee for the American Academy of Optometry, the past Chair of the American Optometric Association, Contact Lens and Cornea Section, a board member of the Canadian Association of Optometrists, Cornea and Contact Lens Section, and a co-founder of the Canadian Contact Lens Academy, which is hosting the first national contact lens meeting in Toronto, Canada. Dr. Pal is currently the owner of a group practice in Toronto, specializing in advanced specialty contact lens fitting, dry eye management and treatment, concussion rehabilitation, vision therapy, and ocular aesthetics.
Avani Dave, OD, FAAO
Dr. Avani Dave earned her Doctor of Optometry and completed a residency in Cornea and Contact Lens at the New England College of Optometry (NECO). She focused on specialty contact lens fitting and managing corneal disease through training at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, BostonSight, Boston Medical Center, and Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston. Dr. Dave is Director of the Optometry and Contact Lens Service at the University of Buffalo’s Ross Eye Institute and an Associate Optometrist at a group private practice in Toronto owned by Dr. Shalu Pal. She is a member of the Canadian Association of Optometry and on the faculty of the Canadian Contact Lens Academy inaugural meeting. She is also a recipient of the Johnson and Johnson Vision Care Award of Excellence in Contact Lens Patient Care.
Karen Carrasquillo, OD, PhD, FAAO, FSLS, FBCLA
VP, Clinical and Professional Affairs @BostonSight
Dr. Karen Carrasquillo joined BostonSight in 2006. In 2014, she was promoted to Director of Clinical Care where she was responsible for BostonSight PROSE treatment delivery and worked in conjunction with the medical director to define the BostonSight treatment model and clinical protocol. In her current role as VP Clinical and Professional Affairs, she leads the BostonSight Needham Clinic team of doctors, contributes to innovation and new product development with BostonSight SCLERAL, and engages eye care professionals around the globe through educational and speaking opportunities.  Dr. Carrasquillo is also an adjunct clinical professor at the New England College of Optometry and at the School of Optometry, MCPHS University, an advisory member of the Gas Permeable Lens Institute, Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, Fellow of the Scleral Lens Education Society, and Fellow of the British Contact Lens Association.
