Nature-based solutions and climate: how to implement through the Global Standard

Nature-based solution (NbS) has become a buzzword in the governments, non-governmental organizations and even the private sector, however, what is the concept. The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) published the Global Standard in 2020. Since the concept has moved to integrated in a more effective way climate change adaptation and mitigation. But, understanding what really is an NbS (or not) and how to implement it in a sustainable way remains a challenge. The presentation will briefly summarize the concept and the global standard and discuss through examples in both urban and rural ecosystems what is possible.
