Kylie Maslen
I am a writer and critic from Adelaide, South Australia, located on the unceded land of the Kaurna people. I write across the areas of feminism and reproductive health, cultural criticism, regionalism, class, sport and all of their intersections. My first book – Show Me Where It Hurts: Living with Invisible Illness – draws on pop culture references and my own experiences to illustrate what it’s like to live with one or more invisible illnesses. It will be on shelves in September 2020 thanks to the wonderful team at Text Publishing. The writing of Show Me Where It Hurts was fully funded by the South Australian government through Arts SA, and I am deeply grateful to live and work in this state. During the early development of this work I was highly fortunate to receive Copyright Agency funding to secure a mentorship with Fiona Wright.
