EHS Training for Frontline Supervisors
Frontline supervisors are in a prime position to shape corporate culture by influencing safety and health practices, attitudes, and behavior through daily interactions with both workers and management. To perform their safety responsibilities, supervisors must have adequate safety knowledge and skills. Ergonomics, leadership, communications, disability management and safety awareness are areas where research has been done to understand what works and what doesn’t in supervisor safety training. This session will discuss implementation strategies for developing supervisor safety skills and knowledge.

Amber Pappas CIT, CSP, ASP is a workplace safety and health consultant and national speaker who has worked in the industry for over 20 years. She is Co-Founder and President of Safety Help Today specializing in workplace safety and health compliance. In addition she works with the Arizona Chapter National Safety Council as a trainer emphasizing on the Fundamentals of Industrial Hygiene, Job Safety Analysis, and Safety Training Methods. Prior to working solely in the safety and health industry, she was an owner of a large contracting company. In her years as a contractor she experienced the ups and downs of trying to maintain a safety and health program that went beyond compliance. She began to recognize trends and gaps between frontline workers and supervision support of the safety and health program. These trends would ultimately lead to the tragic loss of an employee.
