• Are you interested in learning about the United Nations’ framework for countering terrorism, the resolutions that underpin it, and how it applies to the online space?
• Are you a tech professional interested in learning more about UN partnerships and support mechanisms to tackle terrorist use of the internet whilst safeguarding human rights?
• Are you a researcher, government official, or civil society representative interested in supporting multilateral and international cooperation to tackle terrorist exploitation of the internet?
For this Tech Against Terrorism & GIFCT webinar, we will have the honour of welcoming representatives of different United Nations Agencies, including the United Nations Counter-Terrorism Executive Directorate (UNCTED), United Nations Counter-Terrorism Center (UNCCT), and the United National Development Programme (UNDP), to discuss the UN counterterrorism framework and what it means in terms of countering terrorist use of the internet. We will have the opportunity to hear from experts about the guidelines set out by different UN Security Council Resolutions and how they can inform tech platforms’ counterterrorism efforts, as well as learn more about the different UN support mechanisms to help tech platforms in conducting counterterrorism activities in a human rights safeguarding framework.
As always, this webinar session will finish with a Q&A session that is open to all.
