Nursing Home Residents' Rights

Jaclyn Flores, Consumer and Policy Advocate at California Advocates for Nursing Home Reform (CANHR) will be discussing within residents' rights, include transfer, discharge and evictions, bed holds, visitation, complaint rights, and where to file a complaint.

Speaker Information:
Jaclyn Flores is a Consumer and Policy Advocate at CANHR, where she counsels older adults and their families on questions and various issues ranging from different residents’ rights topics, advocacy tips, and Medi-Cal eligibility. Ms. Flores received her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Azusa Pacific University and is a Geriatric Social Work Education Consortium (GSWEC) alumna. Through GSWEC, Ms. Flores received internship placement and eventual employment with WISE & Healthy Aging’s Long Term Care Ombudsman Program, where she worked as a state-certified ombudsman. Ms. Flores has worked as a case manager for older adults and within an Adult Day Healthcare Center. In addition to her work with older adults, Ms. Flores has also worked with children and families as a foster care social worker.
