This event will highlight examples and experiences of the development of smart cities from the Nordic countries and Southeast Asia.
The Nordic countries are known as societies with high social trust, good welfare systems, advanced digitalization and topping the rankings of happiness amongst their citizens. The Nordic cities are also famous for their inclusivity, low carbon emissions, well connected transport systems and the use of their natural landscape in urban development.
Southeast Asian countries have a great position in becoming leaders in smart city development, which Singapore already has achieved through its focus on becoming a Smart Nation. The countries surrounding Singapore show increasing spending power, digital literacy, and smartphone penetration which is a great foundation when building smart cities.
