Luis Alfonso Pabon

Luis is a PhD student in Aeronautics and Astronautics at Stanford University, with extensive research experience in aerospace robotics and control. He has worked at the Aerospace Robotics and Control Lab (ARCL) and the Burdick Research Group at Caltech, and has published two papers. Luis is also the founder and chair of the AIAA Student Branch at Caltech, leading teams that won $180,000 in both the NASA Big Idea Challenge 2021 and 2022.

Luis is a computer science and mathematics student at The University of Texas at Austin. He has completed relevant coursework in various subjects, holds a certificate in Applied Statistical Modeling, and has developed projects such as LucentNote and MySearch. He also engineered a plant disease detection model using deep convolutional neural networks as part of Carnegie Mellon University’s AI4ALL program. Luis is proficient in programming languages such as Java, Python, JavaScript, C, C++, and SQL, and has expertise in tools and frameworks like React, Node, Flask, and TensorFlow.
