Farming the Sea
About half of the world's freshwater and marine fish consumption comes from farming these animals. As more people move to eat seafood marine aquaculture will become increasingly important in providing the source of that food. This talk will look at the how, what, and where of this food source from a global, national and local perspective. It will explore many of the issues associated with marine aquaculture and provide examples of the variety of aquaculture operations near and far.
