This training will explore the dynamics of childhood sexual development from ages 0 – 18. Audience members will gain tangible tools for communicating sexual development changes to children. We will discuss how traumatic experiences can “flip the switch” and influence sexual development resulting in experiences and behaviors that are commonly misunderstood by professionals working with survivors of childhood sexual abuse.
1. Participants will learn about each stage of sexual development across the life span, through a lens of human development.
2. Participants will receive information on common and uncommon sexual behaviors during each life stage.
3. Participants will gain insight on discerning between concerning and problematic sexual behaviors.
4. Participants will be equipped with insight on how to incorporate conversations about consent, safety, and gender into everyday life.
