Monica Mody is a transdisciplinary poet whose recent work is rooted in earth-based worldviews. ORDINARY ANNALS, her new chapbook, came out recently from Ottawa-based above/ground press. A full-length poetry collection BRIGHT PARALLEL is out soon from Copper Coin. Monica's doctoral research on postsecular, post-patriarchal possibilities in South Asia and the borderlands was awarded the Kore Award for Best Dissertation. Her creative work has been recognized through awards including the Sparks Prize Fellowship, the Zora Neale Hurston Award, and the Toto Award; and appears in several journals and anthologies.
