The first 6 months of 2021 saw yet another national lockdown across the UK, disrupting January sales activity to allow a surge in COVID-19 infection to die down. Non-essential stores were shut for over 3 months, with additional restrictions remaining in place for the rest of the half-year period. This resulted in another prolonged period of challenging conditions for occupiers, landlords, place managers, and many other businesses.
