On August 18, 1920, women’s suffrage changed American democracy forever. After decades of disenfranchisement, the suffragists’ arduous work and activism finally opened the doors for women to have a voice in political, legal, economic and social issues, setting the trajectory for women to courageously stand up and fight for equal rights in all matters.
Esteemed elected officials Congresswoman Jennifer Wexton and VA State Senator Jennifer Boysko will discuss the key legislative accomplishments, gains and ongoing challenges to women’s equality in political and business sectors and what all women can do to make a difference, right NOW to further equality for women everywhere.
This event is moderated by INOVA Director, Western Region Government & Community Relations, Stacey Metcalfe. Stacey has 30+ years of both corporate and non-profit leadership experience and is currently the Director, Western Region Government & Community Relations for Inova.
