We are told that the holiday season is a happy and merry time, to gather together with family and friends and make new memories with time old traditions. For many who are grieving the loss of a loved one, particularly a child, this is a near impossible task.
Balancing the expectations family and friends have for us, or we have for ourselves, can add in the challenge and anticipation of the season. As with the grief journey, what one person finds comforting may not work for all. This can leave families and those who look to support them, questioning how to manage during this season.
With this in mind, in this Firefly Chat session we will talk with a family about their experience honoring their child who passed, navigating their grief and managing the “expectations” over the seasons.
We hope this will allow you to take some time to reflect and listen to what your intuition is telling you, letting that be your guide in how you navigate the upcoming months.
