Kids say their number one influence in choosing not to drink is their parents. But many of us don't know how to talk to our kids about alcohol.
The recommended age to begin these discussions is 8 years old. Scary, right?!
Let us help you through this important talk with your kids.
At our Town Hall Meeting, we'll give you and your teens information about underage drinking laws, tell you what our Butler County kids are up against when it comes to underage drinking in our area, give you ways to protect your kids from underage alcohol use, and strategies for how to talk to your 8-20 year olds about resisting alcohol.
The event will be moderated by Butler County Commissioner, Kevin Boozel and speakers include: Chief Deputy Mark Peffer; Systems Change Specialist with Penn State's EPISCenter, Jeff Hogan; and Butler County Drug and Alcohol Program Prevention Specialist, Lisa Gill.
Butler County area participants who fill out a post-survey will receive a $5 gift card to Dunkin' to have a non-alcoholic drink on us. This event is brought to you by the Butler County Drug and Alcohol Prevention Team and sponsored by BOOM Creative, B&B Motors, and State Farm.
