Municipalities all over Ontario are considering and choosing roundabouts to help improve the safety, capacity and sustainability of their intersections. As more municipalities opt for roundabouts as their preferred solution, we are seeing more diversity in how they are designed, constructed and maintained. From solving complex geometric problems, to adding character to a neighbourhood, roundabouts can be found in every corner of the province.
But what have we learned about them since first implementing them over 15 years ago?
Over the course of this presentation we will review the various situations where we are seeing roundabouts used (and not used), and look at the advancements in design, construction and maintenance of each.
