An Evening with Voices of Lefferts

In the fall of 2020, Voices of Lefferts: The Flatbush-PLG Community Writing Journal was awarded Humanities New York Action Grant for "Flatbush Eats: Food, Survival, and Celebration." This initiative was inspired in part by the New Deal era Federal Writers' Project (FWP) effort to document the relationship between food and community. Greenlight Bookstore is honored to welcome back project director Deborah Mutnick, hosting a program of virtual readings and discussion in honor of the journal's eighth issue (second in their special two-part "Flatbush Eats" series) with neighborhood authors in an evening celebrating the voices, lives, and stories of the neighborhood.
