Description

This webinar will introduce Zero to Thrive and the Strong Roots™ framework. We will review the science behind resilience from conception through early childhood. Drawing from our own work with Mom Power, Fraternity of Fathers, and Strong Roots Parent Cafés, we will illustrate how Strong Roots Protective Factors can help children, families, and communities flourish. Presenters will share tools designed to support parents and caregivers in responding to their child’s behavior, recognizing there is no “one right way” to parent, and instead empowering parents and caregivers to create space for reflection and consider how they want to respond to their children’s feelings and needs. Attendees will be encouraged to consider how this approach might also be used to understand and respond to parents’, caregivers’, and even their own, feelings and needs.
Learners will be able to:
1. Describe at least 2 of the 5 Strong Roots Protective Factors that promote resilience in families with young children
2. Describe the Strong Roots Tree metaphor representing children’s needs for exploration and connection
3. Understand how to use the Wondering and Response Wheel to support parents’ and caregivers’ use of the Tree in responding to their child’s behavior
