Hames plays a leading role in organising the annual IISS Shangri-La Dialogue and the IISS Fullerton Forum. James was a Singapore-based author and journalist, and an Associate Professor of Practice at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy. He has also worked for the Financial Times, most recently as Mumbai bureau chief, and has written for a wide range of global publications. He was the senior policy adviser in the UK Prime Minister’s Strategy Unit under Tony Blair and Gordon Brown. Jim Walker (Chief Economist @Aletheia Capital) is the chief economist at Aletheia Capital Limited, an independent research platform for the Asia Pacific region. Prior to joining Aletheia he was the founder and chief economist at Asianomics Group, an economics and strategy research consultancy company formed in late 2007 to primarily service the fund management industry. Over the years Dr Jim achieved numerous ‘best economist’ rankings in the Asiamoney, Institutional Investor and Greenwich surveys of fund managers. Tanvi Madan (Senior Fellow @Project on International Order and Strategy in the Foreign Policy program) Tanvi Madan is a senior fellow in the Project on International Order and Strategy in the Foreign Policy program, and director of The India Project at the Brookings Institution in Washington, DC. Madan’s work explores India’s role in the world and its foreign policy, focusing in particular on India's relations with China and the United States. Tanvi has authored a number of publications on India's foreign policy and been cited by media outlets such as the The Economist, Financial Times, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and The Washington Post. Tridib Pathak (Principal Advisor @Gateway to India Fund) Tridib Pathak is the Principal Advisor to the Gateway to India Fund and has over 30 years’ experience in managing Indian listed equity assets for domestic and international investors. He joined Ocean Dial in 2019 from the Enam Group, where he was a senior portfolio manager. His previous roles included CIO of Lotus Asset Management (a JV with Temasek’s Fullerton Fund Management) and CIO of DBS Cholamandalam, a JV with DBS of Singapore. Over his long career he has maintained a consistent investment style, based on a process orientated, bottom up, fundamental approach to stock picking and portfolio construction, regardless of benchmark considerations and with a long term outlook.
