This presentation discusses ways to find meaning in treatment planning. We can empower the client and affect change by developing a path with clear action steps. Treatment plans become meaningful therapeutic tools allowing both the professional and client to view their progress on the way to long term recovery.

Full description: For many professionals, treatment planning is one more form that must be completed to comply with some type of rule, regulation, standard or guideline. Often, we perceive the task is only necessary to support some type of funding or 3rd party reimbursement. This presentation will discuss ways to find meaning in the process of treatment planning for the client and the professional. When we assist our clients with developing a path toward recovery with a clear direction and action steps; then we begin to empower the client and affect change beginning with the assessment phase. Treatment plans can become a meaningful therapeutic tool allowing both the professional and client to view their progress in a structured format allowing for growth and developmental on the way to long term recovery.

2. Participants will be able to name 3 crucial components of treatment plans
3. Participants will be able to list 2 ways to fully engage the client in the treatment planning process
