During the current pandemic and lockdown many of us have experienced the resurgence of local neighbourhood activities while contemplating what might be the future of our struggling retail-led city centres. The Space Syntax method provides a useful tool for the understanding of the underlying spatial dynamics which determine accessibility, footfall and viability of different types of uses in different locations. This webinar is about the relationships between the spatial structure of cities and how it determines mobility and landuse patterns. What will people continue to do in future and which areas will be suitable for what kind of activities? How will people travel between different parts of the city? What will work best where? We will discuss a ‘Thriving Life’ approach to cities and development.
