Webinar concept note:
The aim of this two-day International webinar is to ponder and engage in discussions on the transformative role of language and literature, its issues, trends and challenges as reflected in the past and also in the present times, and to bring about a positive change in the present day pandemic-stricken world. With short and long-term, complete and partial lockdowns imposed in countries all over the world there has been a great effect on people with businesses closing down, schools and colleges shutting down and many skilled or unskilled work-forces being laid off. Besides guidelines on social gatherings have also made us look for alternative ways to adapt to the new-normal ways of life. In such times, public health actions such as social distancing have made many people feel desolate and lonely that had added to their stress and anxiety. It is imperative under these circumstances to find out alternative ways to safeguard public health. We hope by the end of this webinar we will also be able to assess the transformative role of language and literary studies on the mental health of people so that it can help people to heal themselves from the trauma that they are going through and look forward to a better, healthy and environment-friendly world.
