APS 2021 Webinar-Treating Edentulous Patients with Dental Implants - Technology Advancement and Complications
Dr. Wei-Shao Lin, DDS, FACP, PhD

The treatment of complete and/or single arch edentulism remains a significant priority for dental clinicians. Patients also have emphasized immediate load or restorations with dental implants and often request complex full-arch treatments with shorter treatment times and fewer appointments. Digital technologies can be leveraged to provide more effective treatments for patients. This will be an introductory webinar focusing on the complete edentulous treatment using a digital TEAM approach. The initial phase of the lecture will concentrate on diagnosis and effective dental implant treatment planning
using digital options. In addition, how to utilize these digital data to formulate a virtual patient and assist the treatment planning and restorative process. In concert with these topics, a discussion of commonly seen complications related to using digital technologies in treating edentulous patients will be presented that allows the clinicians to gain a deeper understanding of the advantages and limitations of utilizing technologies in implant dentistry.

Learning Objectives
1. Recognize contemporary surgical and restorative domains relevant to a digital TEAM approach
2. Identify parameters of relevance to implant treatment planning and the computer-guided implant surgery for edentulous treatment
3. Describe communication pathways designed to improve outcome predictability and minimize digital complications.
