(Senior Transportation Engineer @CBCL) Mark joined CBCL in Charlottetown as a municipal construction inspector and designer in 1999. He relocated to New Jersey in 2001 and worked as a transportation consultant and designer before moving back to PEI and re-joining CBCL in 2007 as a Transportation Engineer. Mark now has 20+ years’ experience as a project manager and lead engineer on a wide range of traffic and transportation projects. During his career, he has overseen the design of numerous transportation projects throughout Atlantic Canada involving active transportation corridors, urban streets and rural highways, traffic signals, roundabouts, and intersection improvements. Mark has also led the preparation of many transportation and traffic impact studies. He has extensive experience in the planning and geometric design of urban streets, intersections, and active transportation facilities. He provides project management and/or lead design services for many of CBCL’s transportation projects. Mark Scanlon, P.Eng. (Bridge Lead, Ontario @CBCL) Mark is a bridge engineer, project manager, and a leader in the development and operation of sustainable infrastructure with over 13 years of experience in both the private and public sectors. Joining CBCL in 2022, Mark leads the Ontario bridge team from our office in Ottawa. His background includes work as a design engineer and project manager on a variety of bridge and other infrastructure projects. Prior to joining the CBCL team, Mark was the city bridge engineer for the City of Edmonton responsible for its bridge inventory. Because public feedback and buy-in is a critical part of successful infrastructure projects, Mark has also organized and facilitated many public engagement sessions and initiatives, most notably with the City of Edmonton. Mark is passionate about sustainable infrastructure and strives to provide his clients and the public with fiscally responsible solutions that meet their current and future needs.
