What’s Actually Happening – Toyota Kata at Church and Dwight Part 3
*Live at 2-2:40 PM ET* (this will be a 40 minute webinar)
**Recording available with registration**

Tony Burns, Continuous Improvement Lead at Church & Dwight in Vancouver, WA had a vision to create an internal KataComm 2022 and launch it in September 2022. In preparation, Oscar Roche asked Tony what his desired outcome would be for each of the 27 attendees who were to come from their various plants in the US, Canada and the UK. His response was, “Enough (Toyota Kata) knowledge and skills so they can go back to their plants, practice, and learn from that.”

In the 3rd webinar of our series:

• Tony will describe his third restart! What we love about Tony’s story so far is his honesty – 2 ‘misfires’ for reasons we can all relate to. Tony will now use what he’s learnt, and that’s what counts the most. We will learn from what he does next.
• Jon Moores (NY State) will elaborate on what’s happened since learning that perhaps his groups obstacle of ‘no standard’ was maybe too big and the ‘hill in front’ was a bit daunting – big steps are too hard?
• Jeremy Morelock (Ohio) will continue with his cat litter fines reduction challenge. As Jeremy said in webinar 2 (14 December) the biggest thing in his favor was perhaps that the problem was an irritating one for the operators, so they had a natural vested interest from the start.

We’ll also be joined by Matt King, Global CI Leader for Church and Dwight. Matt will give us a companywide perspective on the why of Kata and their business goal in developing the skill of scientific thinking across the group.
