3 in 30: John Covert and American Dada
As painter and photographer, and as an arts administrator, John Covert (1882–1960) made significant contributions to the development of American modernism. He was particularly active in the short-lived New York Dada movement of the late 1910s. The present exhibition, John Covert: Dada Photographer, contains works from these years, allowing us to see the development of themes across media. Join Dr. Leo Mazow in a discussion of the figural works, drawings, and even paintings that shaped and responded to key components of American Dada.
