Current diagnostic approach in diagnosis of DRTB

The vision of National TB elimination program to eliminate TB by 2025 requires holistic and intensified efforts. Intensified efforts will ensure that none of the patients fall under the radar and holistic so that we can optimally diagnose and treat not only the drug sensitive but also the drug resistant cases.
The success rate for treatment of drug sensitive patients is >80%, the challenge however lies with the Multi drug resistant (MDR) and XDR where the treatment success rate is < 50%.
