The Indigo Project: Ancestral Reverence Revival Artist Talk
Join The Indigo Project Co-Curator & Lucumi Priestess Bushmama Africa and Co-Curator & Founder of the Black Freedom Fellowship Isha Rosemond in an artist talk and communal conversation on the role of ancestral reverence within Black & Indigenous arts practices.

In the Lucumi tradition, February 2nd is the feast day of Oya the Orisha of change, wind, and the owner of the marketplace who Bushmama Africa is crowned for. Across the sea in Bahia, Brasil, where Isha is currently living and studying, the Candomblé tradition celebrates Iemanjá, the Orisha of the Ocean, fertility, and abundance.

Both curators will be working with the energies of change and water as they guide a meditation, journal prompt, and community conversation with exhibiting artists Stephen Hamilton and Sasha Kelley.
