Educators' Night with Raúl Colón
The Carle is pleased to welcome award-winning illustrator Raúl Colón as guest speaker for Educators’ Night. Colón will discuss how daydreaming can support one’s creative process.

Raúl Colón is an award-winning illustrator of over 30 children’s books, including Draw!; Imagine!; Susanna Reich’s José! Born to Dance; Frank McCourt’s Angela’s Christmas; and Jill Biden’s Don’t Forget, God Bless Our Troops. Throughout his distinguished career, Colón has inspired readers and illustrators alike with his exceptional artistry, unique techniques, and powerful stories of people who never give up on their dreams.

Colón is the recipient of the Golden Kite Award, the Pura Belpré Award, and the Tomas Rivera Mexican American Children’s Award. In 2021 he was a Carle Honor Artist Honoree for lifelong innovation in the field.
