The ratification of the 19th Amendment occurred 100 years ago in August of this year, which gives us the opportunity to consider: how are the lessons of the women’s suffrage movement relevant to today’s students? Join critically acclaimed journalist and author of The Woman’s Hour: Our Fight For The Right To Vote (Adapted for Young Readers), Elaine Weiss for an essential conversation designed for teachers and students that addresses these questions and considers the complicated history of women’s suffrage and activism in the U.S. Conversation will be followed by Q&A. Links to active learning, document-based lesson plans and a professional development certificate will be provided.
