Traceability for Supply Chain Due Diligence and Sustainability in the Garment Sector
Supply chain insight and assurance is critical for companies who want to take concrete steps to identify and address harm from labor rights abuses throughout supply chains. The Supply Chain Tracing and Engagement Methodologies (STREAMS) project is supporting the use of traceability tools to promote due diligence and combat labor abuse in global supply chains. Funded by the U.S. Department of Labor, this project is led by the NGO Verité, in collaboration with core partners including the Responsible Sourcing Network’s initiative YESS: Yarn Ethically & Sustainably Sourced (RSN/YESS) and Better Cotton.

This session will showcase pilots by Better Cotton and RSN YESS of traceability tools in mid-tiers of the garment supply chain to enhance due diligence and sustainability and promote decent work. The Supply Chain Traceability Matrix – an open online resource that provides guidance for stakeholders throughout the supply chain on how different traceability systems can be leveraged to combat forced labor and child labor – will also be previewed.
