Operational Excellence (OE) Frameworks and Management Systems have in the past few years helped create opportunities for greater collaboration between departments in companies and greater collaboration between companies within a supply chain. From an internal context, operational excellence provides for processes to be established within organizations which help procurement, operations and safety functions work closely with each other in the setting of efficient processes that ensures that safe and reliable products and services are procured.
From an external context, working through collaborative networks which avoid conflict of competing commercial interests, can mean that better systems, products and services can be developed. The experience and knowledge sharing through using effective communities of practice in OE can be significant.
This short presentation will talk about the 7 fundamentals of Operationally excellent organizations and will give examples of how OE can help in the overall improvement in safety in the supply chains.
