They seem to be everywhere now, young Mayors from across the country, testing solutions in trying times. Foremost among them has been 39-year-old Randall Woodfin of Birmingham, Alabama, a Bernie Sanders-backed candidate who defeated a two-term incumbent in a stunning 2017 upset. As Mayor, Woodfin has defied his state’s Attorney General by removing a Confederate monument, and has invested in smart policing, inclusive economic growth, and instilling an ethic of customer service throughout all levels of local government.
Join The Philadelphia Citizen and Fitler Club for an important conversation between Mayor Woodfin and Citizen Co-Founder Larry Platt on how change can happen in cities that have long been stuck on status quo. Woodfin will recount his innovative strategies for remaking city government amid multiple crises, and demonstrate how mayoral leadership can rebrand a storied American city.

The event is free, and shown through the Zoom platform. Moderated by Larry Platt, Co-Founder, The Philadelphia Citizen.
