TLJMS will educate medical providers to provide a comprehensive and holistic approach to treating patients with acute and chronic pain. This initiative is supported by an independent grant from Health Council of Southeast Florida.

Providers and Prescribers will learn the factors important to prescriber decision making
Prescribers will gain information on the Florida Prescription Drug Monitoring Program
According to the CDC, most overdose deaths, a staggering 70% in 2018, involved opioids. Nearly 450,000 people died between, 1999 and 2018, from overdoses involving any opioid, including prescription and illicit opioids. From 2015 to 2017, nearly all racial/ethnic groups and age groups experienced significant increases in opioid-involved and synthetic opioid–involved overdose death rates.
