Judd Foundation and Agave Festival Marfa invite you to a conversation with Rainer Judd, President of Judd Foundation; Bertha González Nieves, Co-Founder & CEO of Tequila Casa Dragones; and Jim Martinez, agronomist and landscape designer; moderated by Tim Johnson, Director of Agave Festival Marfa. This discussion, in conjunction with the opening of Judd Foundation’s Agave Garden on West Oak Street in downtown Marfa, will focus on the importance of public spaces and native plants.
The Agave Garden, which includes Donald Judd Furniture, was designed and planted in partnership with Jim Martinez. The garden features more than twenty plants native to the Trans-Pecos region. The selection of species was based on their use by indigenous peoples of the region for food, beverage, fiber, and cultural ceremonies.
