Exam Prep - Presented by Ken Dedrick, PS: The class will be a review of the SURVEYOR REFERENCE MANUAL Seventh Edition (ISBN 978-1-59126-648-8). The review will cover Survey Math, Data Acquisition, Plane Survey Calculations, Geodesy/Astronomy, Cadastral and Boundary Law, Land Planning, Mapping, Construction Staking, Earthwork, Hydrographic Survey, Accuracy Standards, Business Management, and Ethics. The student will receive several practice problems covering the material from the “Reference Manual” as well as practice problems from the NCEES Fundamentals of Surveying and Principals and Practice of Surveying practice exams. It is highly recommended that the student purchase the Surveyor Reference Manual and bring a NCEES approved calculator, writing material, and a drawing template. (Surveyor Reference Manual is available on Amazon.com, and through the publisher's website at ppi2pass.com.) NOTE: Representatives from the KSBTP will be joining the class to provide information on the exam process and answer any questions relating to Kansas licensing procedures and regulations.
State Specific Exam - Presented by Steve Brosemer, PS: The Kansas State Specific Exam is required for all surveyors seeking licensure in Kansas. Both Part 1 and Part 2 of the State Specific exam will be discussed. The class is aimed at those that are not currently licensed and for those that are already licensed in other states. Exam taking strategies will also be a part of the class.
