Interest in “Open Dialogue”, Western Lapland’s way of responding to acute mental health crisis, continues to rise around the world. Efforts to emulate, if not replicate, Open Dialogue in specific contexts have, however, added — or dropped — key elements as they were found necessary. The question arises: What exactly is Open Dialogue, and can it be replicated? Or is it best to think of it as a good example, from which elements and principles can serve as inspiration?
If so, the question “What is ‘Open Dialogue?” may be best answered simply: “it’s an ongoing conversation.”
Come join the conversation in OpenExcellence, HOPENDialogue, and Mad in America’s ongoing Town Hall about what Open Dialogue is — and is becoming — today.
