Project First Step - Free MCLE Training

Description

Join Central California Legal Services, Fresno County Superior Court, Marjaree Mason Center, Fresno County Bar Association, and Fresno County Women Lawyers for this 4-hour attorney MCLE training event. The event will run from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM. Sessions will include information about domestic violence, obtaining domestic violence restraining orders, ethics of pro bono service and limited scope representation, and information from the Court about domestic violence cases. Attendees are eligible to receive 3.0 hours of general MCLE credit and 1.0 hours of Ethics credit. Amy Guerra (Judge @Fresno County Superior Court) The Hon. Amy Guerra has been a Family Court Judge at the Fresno County Superior Court since 2018. Judge Guerra is a graduate of San Joaquin College of Law and a former criminal defense attorney. Marjaree Mason Center Marjaree Mason Center supports and empowers adults and their children affected by domestic violence, while striving to prevent and end the cycle of abuse through education and advocacy. As the only comprehensive domestic violence agency in Fresno County, the Marjaree Mason Center provides safe-housing, legal advocacy, counseling and education to adults and children affected by domestic violence. Annually, we serve nearly 8,500 clients. Nancy Stegall, Esq. (Attorney @Law Offices of Borton Petrini LLP) Nancy Stegall, Esq. works for the Fresno office of Borton Petrini. After graduating from San Joaquin College of Law in 1996, she opened her own law office and became a Certified Family Law Specialist in 2004. She has volunteered with CCLS' Pro Bono Program and was named Pro Bono Attorney of the Year in 2006. She also formerly acted as Judge Pro Tem for domestic violence restraining order hearing assignments in Fresno County Superior Court.
