Sara Dowse
Sara Dowse is an award-winning author who before she took up writing was one of Australia’s first ‘femocrats'. West Block, her first novel, was published in 1983. Drawn from her experience in government, it is considered a classic work of fiction for its unique, sensitive and humorous rendering of the lives of a group of public servants grappling with a new breed of political masters. For Pity Sake brought out her sixth novel, As the Lonely Fly, in 2017 and is releasing West Block in this new edition for its special relevance today.
