In this overview of the redesigned PubMed interface, Margot Malachowski will demonstrate how librarians can teach their students how to apply search strategies using PubMed best practices. Participants will learn how to instruct students in the usage of PubMed features, and how they can participate in iterative design through feedback channels.
Margot Malachowski (she/her) is an Education and Outreach Coordinator for the Network of the National Library of Medicine, New England Region (NNLM NER) at the University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester, MA. At NNLM NER, Margot supports health information outreach through hospital libraries, public libraries, senior centers, adult literacy programs and public health organizations. Margot worked as the Community Outreach Librarian for Baystate Health in Springfield, MA from 2008-2016. From 1996-2008, she worked in public libraries in Amherst, MA, Carrboro, NC and Durham, NC.
