Impostor Syndrome is a form of self-doubt that manifests when objectively successful people believe their success is attributed to luck. It impacts millions of people of all backgrounds and career stages, but the compounding effects of racism and sexism creates a unique hurdle for women of color in the work place that is often left out of the conversation. Lincoln Hill, PhD will be joining us to discuss the impostor phenomenon through an intersectional lens, unpacking why women of color are often rendered invisible in these conversations and how we can all practice radical self-acceptance to stop minimizing our achievements.

Dr. Hill completed her APA-Accredited internship in health service psychology from the University of Pennsylvania Counseling & Psychological Services. Currently, Dr. Hill is a postdoctoral fellow at the Chicago Counseling Collective and an adjunct faculty member in Loyola University Chicago’s counseling program. Dr. Hill’s clinical and research interests center on issues pertaining to Black women’s mental health, the imposter syndrome, racial and ethnic minority college student development, intersectionality, and multiculturalism. Dr. Hill hopes to continue her development as a culturally humble professional by working within the intersections of educational access, mental wellness, and social justice.
