Work Mind Matters: THE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY
The construction industry provides a challenging and pressurised lifestyle. “Our industry is arguably a special case when it comes to mental wellness – there’s a lot of bullying, very long hours, demanding workloads and projects which are often far from home… alcohol and drug abuse is rife, marriages are affected,” says Prof Paul Bowen, one of the panellists for this session.

While physical health is very much on the construction industry’s radar, of real and growing concern is mental health. Recent surveys in the UK suggest that 64% of construction workers want better physical and mental health and wellbeing support from their employers, with calls coming from within the industry as a whole to have a better awareness of mental health. Also to take action to eradicate the stigma from associated with it.

Work Mind Matters invites you to this free online event specifically aimed at all those working in the Built Environment. Find out more from industry leaders about the value of mental health and wellness in your workplace.
