Andrea Hoffman

Andrea Hoffman is a junior at Ohio Northern University in Ada, Ohio, where she is a double major in Political Science and Public Relations with minors in Public Policy, Public Health, Pre-Law, Religion, and Environmental Studies. On-campus, Andrea is involved in a number of organizations including serving as a Fellow for the ONU Institute for Civics and Public Policy and serving as President of ONU’s Chapter of the Pi Sigma Alpha Political Science Honor Society. In addition to her studies at Ohio Northern, Andrea has been advocating on behalf of those living with cystic fibrosis for years both on the state level in Ohio and on the federal level. Last December, Andrea was able to give her perspective of living with CF during the pandemic by publishing an Op-Ed with CNN.(https://www.cnn.com/2020/12/18/opinions/cystic-fibrosis-fear-covid-19-normalize-public-health-practices-hoffman/index.html) Most recently this summer, Andrea was appointed by Ohio Governor Mike DeWine to represent CF on
Sierra Hicks
College Student @Bonnell Foundation volunteer
Sierra Hicks is an 18-year-old Freshman at Stockton University in Galloway, New Jersey. She was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis at 11 months old and has had her share of health challenges. But as she grew older her body grew stronger. So, in many respects she was a late bloomer. Her health impacted her school attendance and involvement in sports and other activities. Despite these obstacles she has performed well academically garnering numerous college scholarships and selection into the Jackie Robinson Foundation’s IMPACT program. Sierra worked hard her first semester finishing with a 3.33 GPA and participating in a number of advocacy organizations. Her other interests include photography, public speaking, politics, journaling, and all genres and eras of music. She regularly participates in Cystic Fibrosis awareness and fundraising efforts. In 2020, Sierra won the New Jersey state bronze medal for Original Essay in the NAACP ACT-SO program

I started The Bonnell Foundation while I was still a news reporter in Detroit. Now I am a reporter and the Executive Director for my Foundation. Life is good. My daughters Molly and Emily have CF.
