Wastepack - The plastic Tax – one month on

On 1st April 2022, HMRC introduced the plastic packaging tax in the UK. Most packaging that has less than 30% recycled content is subject to a tax levy of £200 per tonne.

In the build up to the start of the tax, Bheta, Wastepack and members worked together, on your behalf, lobbying Government to ensure that the tax was administered in the fairest way possible and we are pleased to say that HMRC listened to our points and adopted guidance that has helped ensure that the measure implemented have had the smallest effect possible on Bheta members.

One month on from the start of the tax, Wastepack are holding a refresher webinar, which will look at how the tax works in the UK and how it may effect your businesses. This is a good opportunity for any companies who are not sure if they need to comply with these regulations to find out if they are effected and what they need to do about it.
