This Social Economy Intergroup Public Hearing on Skills & Digitalisation: Investing in Social Economy as Tomorrow’s Economy will discuss:
The importance of upskilling and reskilling of social economy employees in the framework of the digital transition, especially in sectors as social services, industry, culture, education, the caring economy etc.
A focus on employee ownership (collective entrepreneurship) including the opportunities and challenges of this model, in particular in the current context of economic and social crisis.
The social economy movement proposals to provide decent jobs and social protection to platform worker’s: the rise of platform cooperatives.
Important speakers at the event include: Nicolas Schmit, Commissioner for Jobs and Social Rights, Juan Antonio Pedreño, President of SEE, Patrizia Toia, MEP, Sven Giegold, MEP, Giuseppe Guerini, President of CECOP, Laura Peracaula, Co-Director-General of Suara Cooperative; Sibylle Reichert, Director of AIM (International Association of Helathcare Mutuals), Jordi Cañas MEP and Lina Gálvez MEP.
