Dental providers are in a unique position to discuss with their patients the latest evidence of e-cigarette's impact on the oral biome. This session will include three speakers that share latest evidence on e-cigarette and resources for providers.
Dr. Purnima Kumar is a Professor of Periodontology at The Ohio State University. In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Kumar maintains an active research program in human microbial ecology that is funded through the NIH and oral healthcare corporate partners and has authored over 100 papers and book chapters.
Laurie Rubiner is Executive Vice President for Domestic Programs at the Campaign for Tobacco Free Kids, the leading advocacy organization working to reduce tobacco use and its deadly consequences in the United States and around the world. She has more than 25 years of experience in Congress and the non-profit sector.
Keri Hess is a Program Administrator at the Health Education Council (HEC), a nonprofit organization dedicated to cultivating health and well-being in under-served communities. She leads the LUCHA Tabaco program, funded by the California Tobacco Control Program and seeks to address health disparities among Latino populations.
