Introduction to Federal Criminal Defense for the State Court Practitioner
A 10-part weekly CLE webinar series designed to introduce the state court practitioner to the federal statutes, case law, procedures, practice tips, and cautionary tales of federal criminal practice in the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. Co-sponsored by Marino Legal, an accredited NY MCLE provider.

The first segment, "Webinar One: The Pre-Arrest Federal Investigation", on June 18th, 2020, is a 90-minute lecture focused on pre-charge advocacy. In the absence of discovery or a charging document, what can you learn about the Government’s investigation? Also, how do you conduct your own? We will discuss how to conduct witness interviews without becoming one yourself, how to safeguard electronic evidence from phones, computers and other devices, how to share information with other lawyers without wishing you hadn’t, being sensitive about and avoiding conflicts, understanding the Fifth Amendment and Act of Production doctrine, and other things you can do to help your client during this most anxious and important time. The panelists are Marc Agnifilo, Esq., Brafman & Associates, P.C. and Raymond Granger, Esq., Granger & Associates, LLC.
