The 2023 CLM Specialization in Congregational Care

July 21-22, 2023, 9 am - 4 pm CST daily (Friday/Saturday)

2-day focused webinar training for Certified Lay Ministers (CLMs) to become specialized in Congregational Care. This course, created in collaboration with the Lay Servant Ministries of the United Methodist Church, was created for Certified Lay Ministers to receive a specialization in Congregational Care. This course includes the same training received in the full online Basic CCM Training Course plus an additional final project to create a “Care Ministry Action Plan” which is to be submitted to the UMC Discipleship Ministries. The webinar offers inspiring worship and nationally known speakers.

Prerequisite for those seeking specialization: Certified as a CLM (or equivalent as defined by his or her central conference) in the United Methodist Church.

NOTE: Non-CLMs may attend this basic care ministry webinar but they will not receive the final project for specialization in congregational care. They will however receive a basic certificate of completion for the course.

Individual Registration includes over 10 hours of training over two days covering: Theology of Care, Boundaries, Listening & Spiritual Guidance, Elder Care, Visitation, Care for the Sick and Dying, Organizing (Recruiting, Roles, & Documentation), Evaluation and Building the Vision. Instruction includes how to adapt care during times of crisis.

Payment can be made by PayPal, debit or credit card. Rate excludes recommended Implementation Guide and Care Minister's Manual to be purchased separately from thecaringcongregation.com/resources.
